The friendly proprietor of www.pminmo.com saw that I had used his "open source" stepper driver boards for my mill and contacted me asking for feedback. I said that I was very happy with the boards but mentioned that I had to rework the logic power supply to tolerate the high voltage (40V) I wanted to use for the motors. He then immediately put together a new version with an improved regulator system. I recommend that if you want to drive steppers with good results for a low price, you give his board a try.
